Laura Vetter grew up in small-town Iowa where she began an impressive habit of volunteering - at the local library and nursing home, for the summer school her teacher-mother supervised, as a mentor to kindergartners and a 3rd graded gifted program. In high school Laura journeyed to a small Costa Rican village where she lived with a family for nearly a month. She spent a college semester in Thailand where she taught English and a summer in Vienna. She also has traveled to China, Laos, Cambodia and throughout Europe. She was a camp counselor for three summers, has taught canoeing and has a strong lifeguarding background.
The serendipity of VISIONS caught up with Laura when she heard about VISIONS while a nanny for a child whose mother was on the VISIONS Tortola staff team in 1994. And Tortola is where Laura spent her first VISIONS summer staffing two programs. Last summer Laura joined the staff team in Montana on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. Laura is ready and excited to return to Montana as this season’s program director. Laura holds a Bachelors degree in Media Communications with a minor in photography. She enjoys swimming, hiking, traveling, coffee, playing with her nephew and chap stick.
